Is this a Pantanal fish?

The sting ray (Potamotrygon falkneri) is a fish (that's right, a fish!) that lives at the bottom of the rivers,including the river from our hotel in the Pantanal, but sometimes it buries itself in the mud in the shallowest areas. It is considered a harmless fish but accidents with humans normally happens when someone steps on it. The sting ray uses its venomous sting, in the superior caudal region to deffend itself. People say that the pain is one of the worst there is. Here in Barra Mansa Lodge - pantanal the cases of people being injured by the sting ray are rare.
