Pantanal Caiman

The fauna of the Pantanal has many emblematic species, and one of the most notorious is the Jacaré-do-Pantanal (Caiman yacare). Caimans feed mostly on fish, but play a very important ecological function feeding on weak, old and sick individuals of several other species. Easy to find it by the Negro River, at Barra Mansa Lodge.
